_________________________

FIVE ALARM FUNK

Five Alarm Funk is a horn-powered, percussion-fueled sonic and visual assault. Over 17 years of hard funking the band has burned up stages on four continents, released six studio albums and received two Juno Award nominations (Canadian Grammys). And this ride isn’t about to slow down. Five Alarm Funk is set to release their 7th studio album, Big Smoke in 2020. The 11 tracks get right to the roots of what Five Alarm Funk is all about: epic, intense arrangements, heavy groove and a ton of fun.

CALEB HART

A natural born performer since he was a young boy growing up in Trinidad & Tobago; Hart has been taking his music across Canada and around the world to The Caribbean, Australia, USA and New Zealand full time since 2012. Along with racking up over 900 shows in that time, he has also released 5 records, 12 singles, and won prestigious awards from Edmonton Folk Fest, the Western Canadian Music Awards and more. However, all of the sales, stats and awards are just the background to Hart’s mission to spread songs of hope and unity wherever he goes. Whether touring with a band or as a solo performer, Hart carries a singular ability to bring the audience together for the show and beyond.

SURF HAT

Surf Hat are a “cold water” surf rock band based in Squamish, British Columbia. Channeling inspiration from groups like Allah-Lahs, The Murlocs, and Vundabar, Surf Hat foster infectious and melodic grooves that keep legs shakin and toes tappin. The band are set to release their first full length LP entitled “Surf Hat” in July 2022. Members include Jon Allan, Evan Camm, and Adam Ravalia.

ALEX FRASER

Alex Fraser is a singer/songwriter/producer/perfromer based on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. He loves to perform whenever a chance arises. Everything from private bookings, to open mics, to music competitions, Alex just loves to spread the joy of music wherever he can. His biggest influences include Coldplay, The Weeknd, and Kygo. He hopes his music will leave you feeling inspired, uplifted, and craving more.

Saturday, August 12th, 2023:

Gates: 4:30PM

Saturday at the Five Acre Shaker concert-goers will be treated to an incredible night of Rock, Country and Blues headlined by Canadian Country Music Award winner Eric Ethridge, and featuring one of Country Music’s rising stars Melissa Livingstone as well as Seattle-based Country-Blues outfit Brian James Was Here, and emerging Blues Rock artist Cat Madden.

_________________________

ERIC ETHRIDGE

His self-titled debut EP, issued in 2018, debuted at #1 on the iTunes country charts while producing the smash hit “If You Met Me First,” its video achieving more than 10 million views on YouTube. A year later, Ethridge picked up a CCMA Rising Star nomination adding to his prestigious 2016 CCMA Discovery Award win. By the time the beforementioned Good with Me album arrived two years later, the Sarnia, ON. native was given a feature spot on country superstar Gord Bamford’s “Rednek Music Fest” national tour.

To date, Ethridge — who describes himself as a spontaneous songwriter with “about a million ideas recorded on my phone” — boasts an incredible 65 million artist streams globally. He is currently registering over 35,000 daily streams in the weeks prior to the September 30 release of “Made in Mexico,” further cementing his status as an independent artist, albeit one with six Top 50 Canadian Billboard hits and over 120,000 social media followers.

MELISSA LIVINGSTONE

Hailing from the quaint little fishing village of Ucluelet, nestled off the coastline of Vancouver Island, BC, Melissa Livingstone is the epitome of what small-town country living truly exemplifies. With a population around 1500, there wasn’t much to do growing up except ride dirt bikes, spend time on the water, and dream big. After moving to Kelowna, BC, at 17, Melissa entrenched herself in the local music scene and instantly made an impact. After years of playing the local music scene, garnering her peers’ respect and hearing the music community’s praise, she decided to listen to her heart and follow her dreams to the epicentre of country music, moving to Nashville, Tennessee, early this year.

CAT MADDEN

“Her voice is like an opera singer mixed with a Husqvarna chainsaw” – the words of a bleary-eyed gas station attendant from Squamish, the morning after a Cat Madden set. Perhaps this unique tone stems from a childhood spent with a rock, punk, and ska enthusiast for a father (Madness, The Specials, Blondie, Who, Clash, Beat, Jam) and a mother in love with French classical composers; Debussy, Ravel, and Erik Satie. Here

BRIAN JAMES WAS HERE

Born and raised on a farm in the small logging community of Montesano, WA, Brian is at home on the stage where his larger than life personality comes out with witty commentary and raw energy.

From a young age Brian knew that he wanted to pursue music, and in 2005 he moved to Nashville Tennessee where he wrote songs for the Surefire Music Company. Brian penned songs for TV, film, and commercial projects and artists such as Taylor Hicks and High road Three. Brian’s Music Received a CCMA nomination for Single of the Year in 2013. In the following year his song “Angel at the Crossroads” was nominated for Gospel Single of the Year.
